Does Wave deliver exporters' vehicles to the port?

Yes. Wave delivers exporters' vehicles to the port, after arranging pickup from individual sellers, dealers and auctions.

Wave also handles the paperwork exporters need for export. Wave's own transport is within the continental United States and ends at the port or at a third-party logistics (3PL) shipping company's yard. It does not include ocean shipping. Four ports have a dedicated page on this site, listed in the table below. They are the ports with a page, not a ranking and not a complete list of where Wave delivers.

How is delivery to the port priced?

Each vehicle delivered to the port gets its own live quote, and exporters can receive a value-based discount and a volume-based discount.

This page lists no prices, discount amounts or thresholds. Billing is the customer's choice: one consolidated invoice, or separate invoices.

These are not quotes. A live quote prices each shipment.

Step by step

How does Wave get a vehicle to the port, step by step?

Wave picks the vehicle up from the seller, dealer or auction, checks the carrier's equipment and registrations, delivers the vehicle to the port or your 3PL's yard, and handles the paperwork you need for export.

  1. 01

Request a live quote for each vehicle, giving its pickup point (an individual seller, a dealer or an auction) and the port it is bound for.

  2. 02

Wave arranges the pickup. Before the shipment is dispatched, Wave checks that the carrier has proper equipment and registrations.

  3. 03

Wave delivers the vehicle to the port, or to your third-party logistics (3PL) shipping company's yard.

  4. 04

Wave handles the paperwork you need for export.

  5. 05

Track your orders in the customer portal, share them with your partners, and receive one consolidated invoice or separate invoices.

Each port page below reports what that port's published pages say a delivering truck needs.

Which ports have a dedicated Wave page?

Four ports have a dedicated page: Baltimore in Maryland, Jacksonville in Florida, the Port of New York and New Jersey (Port Newark) and San Diego in California.

The table names the vehicle terminal each page describes. A port without a page is not excluded by that fact, and a port with a page is not ranked above the rest. Each page reports only what that terminal's own published pages say.

When Wave's delivery to the port is NOT the right choice

If you need the vehicle carried across the ocean, Wave is not the right choice, because Wave's transport is within the continental United States and ends at the port or the 3PL yard.

If you buy vehicles on behalf of several dealers rather than for export, wholesale vehicle transport is the closer match. A dealer moving its own stock belongs on the dealer page.

What Wave does for exporters at the port, and what the federal export rule requires

Wave arranges and delivers exporters' vehicles to the port and/or a 3PL shipping company's yard, and handles the paperwork exporters need for export.

Every U.S. port of export falls under the same federal requirements. The Census Bureau requires Electronic Export Information for used self-propelled vehicles, and CBP's page (last modified Jan 07, 2026) puts the filing deadline in the Automated Export System at 72 hours before export, with no exception for destination, value or condition. For a vehicle titled in the United States, 19 CFR 192.2 (eCFR text checked October 2026) has the owner give Customs the original title or a certified copy plus two complete copies; a leased or lien-recorded vehicle needs, in addition, a separate signed writing from the third party stating that export is permitted. Per CBP's used-vehicle FAQ (May 13, 2016), civil penalties may be imposed for not filing, filing late, or filing false or misleading information.
